About

Me: Tony Thomas
The Short Version
I am a father to two, husband to one, IT Professional at The Big U, producer of Minneapoliscast podcast and a Minneapolis singer and songwriter.
The Long Version
I am the Data Manager for Clinic Virology Programs at the University of Minnesota where I manage the data for several virology research protocols. I do so using the CakePHP framework with a MySQL back end. I also manage our public website using Wordpress. I also do some independent contracting for developing websites–mostly using Wordpress.
I recently developed the Baseline Wordpress Development Theme which is meant to serve as a starting point for developing new Wordpress themes. It has several popular libraries and frameworks plugged in and ready to go when you’re starting a new theme.
I’ve played music in the Twin Cities in several bands over the last 20 years. I produced the Minneapoliscast podcast for four years, but that project is on indefinite hiatus.
I’m married with two daughters. My family is beautiful, smart and challenging.
The Toggle Switch
The toggle switch in the right sidebar is inspired by Mark Wahlberg’s return to Earth in the 2001 version of Planet of the Apes. For some reason, even though he has just traversed interstellar space in a matter of seconds, he has to flip a dozen or so toggle switches during his landing sequence in his highly advanced spacecraft. It seems the toggle switch industry will be in business for a long time.
